Mr Fadi Housami
Consultant Urologist and Stone Surgeon
Mr Housami is a Consultant Urologist and Stone Surgeon experienced in endoscopic (laser) and minimally iinvasive (keyhole) surgery of kidney stones.
He qualified in 2000 from Damascus University and subsequently completed basic surgical training in Southwest England. Pursuing a career in Urology he joined the Bristol Urological Institute in 2006 as Urodynamics Research Fellow studying non invasive urodynamics investigations for bladder outflow obstruction and presented and published his research internationally.
He completed higher surgical training in Urology in 2015 in the West of Scotland. His subspecialist interest and experience in stones was further refined during an Endourology Fellowship at the Scottish Lithotriptor Centre in Edinburgh. He was appointed as Consultant Urologist and Stone Surgeon to lead the stone surgery service at Aintree University Hospital in 2016. He works closely with microbiologist and pharmacist colleagues as the urology lead for antibiotic stewardship and the management or urinary tract infections.
He is also interested in education holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and contributing as faculty on regional and national courses organised by the Northwest Deanery and the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
Mr Housami is experienced in the investigation and management of a broad range of Urological conditions. His areas of subspecialist interest include: kidney and bladder stones, ureteric obstruction, urinary tract infections (cystitis) and bladder pain, prostate problems and outflow obstruction, scrotal and foreskin problems.
