Ms Gill visited The Sefton Suite and saw Mr Martin for breast augmentation surgery:

My experience with the Sefton Suite prior to the surgery was excellent. I initially chose to have my surgery at Aintree hospital with Mr Martin due to having a fabulous experience with there for a previous operation. The Sefton Suite was spoken of extremely highly by my consultant and nurses and I was given a booklet and further information to read up about it. I had never been to the Sefton Suite before but after doing research on the internet it made me look forward to my stay.

My experience in the hospital was outstanding from beginning till end, I only stayed one night and actually didn’t want to go home in a rush the next day. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed me to my room, the room was very clean, very private and I felt comfortable as soon as I arrived.

I was visited in the morning by four members of staff who took my blood pressure and checked my medical questions etc. All of the staff were excellent and made me feel at ease before my surgery. I was then taken up for my surgery earlier than expected where the anaesthetist and staff were again so great with me. I thought I would be nervous prior to the operation but I was so relaxed and more excited than anything.

I had the surgery and was absolutely fine. Taken back to my room I was offered food from the lunch menu and a drink as I hadn’t stopped talking about how hungry and dehydrated I was all morning due to fasting! Throughout the day and night all the nurses were checking on me making sure I was okay and bringing me anything I needed. The food was fantastic from my cheese sandwich lunch to my three course dinner and breakfast in the morning. I didn’t want to leave the next day! All the nurses came in and spoke to me for a chat and had a laugh, I felt really looked after and luckily had no pain post-surgery so it made me stay even more enjoyable!

 Mr Martin was my surgeon and from the moment I met him at Transform in Crosby I knew he was the surgeon I wanted to go with. He didn’t pressure me into anything and said I actually looked fine the way I was but he understood it was due to the way I felt inside myself. My mum came with me to meet him at the initial consultation and really liked him, this was a big and scary step for us both but something I had wanted for a long time so for her to feel happy with Mr Martin made me feel a lot better. Before the surgery Mr Martin came round to see me and again I felt great and like I had made the right choice.

When Mr Martin came to see me after the surgery I felt like crying because I was so happy and thanked him because he has changed my life and the way I feel about myself so much!
