Professor Gershan Davis

Prof Davis is a specialist in cardiology and trained in cardiology at the Regional Cardiac Centre, Blackpool and completed further subspecialty training in interventional cardiology at Green Lane Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand, Lahey Clinic Boston, USA and Yorkshire Heart Centre, Leeds UK.

He has a special interest in Cardiovascular Conditions such as chest pain and hypertension and breathlessness. He has specialist knowledge of cholesterol management and invasive and interventional cardiology. He is currently Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston UK and Consultant Cardiologist at North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust. Prior to this he was an NHS Consultant Cardiologist with lead clinical responsibility for the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at University Hospital Aintree and the co-lead for cardiac CT at University Hospital Aintree, UK. He has a strong interest in Medical Education and Medical Leadership.

Prof Davis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), the Royal Australian College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. He holds a research higher degree, Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Manchester (UK) with an academic interest in the molecular genetics of common cardiac conditions such as heart failure. He was awarded an MSc in Medical Education from the University of Liverpool and an MSc in Medical Leadership from Edge Hill University. He is a member of the British Cardiovascular Society Education Committee and the RCP Education Clinical Faculty. He was previously a member of the Cardiology Specialist Training and Education Committee in Mersey

Prof Davis has held academic positions including Research Associate, Tufts Medical School, Boston, USA; Clinical Lecturer University of the West Indies, Bahamas, Honorary Senior Lecturer University of Liverpool and currently Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at University of Central Lancashire, Preston.

He aims to offer personalised consultant led patient centred heart care without delay and with full back up safety facilities in a comfortable environment.
