Audiology

Audiology is the branch of medicine which deals with hearing, balance and any associated disorders. Our consultant audiologists are hand selected and have enormous experience in treating and diagnosing these issues.

Audiologists can employ a number of strategies to decipher the problem including hearing tests, otoacoustic emission measuremements and videonystagmography. Many tests are deisgned to measure the level of hearing and to what degree (high, middle or low frequencies), once this is ascertained the solution can be discussed.

Recommendations may include hearing aids, cochlear implants or an appropriate medical referral. As part of the process, our audiologists can also assist patients in rehabilitation, those using cochlear implants, hearing aids and suffering from auditory processing disorders.
