MonaLisa Touch

The Mona Lisa Touch is a non surgical, hormone free, minimally invasive treatment performed in an outpatient environment with no requirement for anaesthesia and very few side effects.

Menopausal women who have undergone some form of cancer treatment can suffer from a lack of Oestrogen which can cause dryness and thinning of the vaginal tissues known as vaginal atrophy. This in turn causes intercourse to be uncomfortable and painful in some cases.

The Sefton Suite can now offer a clinically proven laser treatment to provide long lasting relief.

The MonaLisa Touch uses a unique vaginal probe used to deliver laser energy to the vaginal wall tissue stimulating the production of collagen restoring the proper balance to the mucous membrane and alleviating the effects of vaginal atrophy.

Three treatments of between five and ten minutes each are required over an 18 week period with the possibility of annual treatments following this.

MonaLisa Touch® is a clinical solution and not a cosmetic procedure. In general, all women who have vaginal disorders such as dryness, burning and itching can benefit from this treatment. However, all patients would require an appropriate clinical assessment by our specialists to rule out other causes for the presenting symptoms.

There may be some localised discomfort following the treatment that will only last for a few days after the session. We recommend that you have a 3 or 4 day break before resuming any sexual activity, your consultant will give you all the advice you require both before and after the procedure.
